The Dylon Cold Water Hand dyes are for dying small items like underwear, a blouse, shorts, cushion covers, hand towels etc. Ideal for Batik and Tie Dying too!
In a jug or glass bowl, dissolve the dye in 500ml of the hottest tap water. Fill a stainless steel sink or bowl with cold water (enough to cover the fabric) - stir in 250g ordinary salt and dye fix, add the dye and stir well. Place clean damp fabric in the water, making sure it's all submerged, stir for 15mins and then regularly for 45 mins. Rinse the fabric in cold water till the water runs clear (don't forget to put your rubber gloves back on!)
The leaflet inside the pack contains full instructions. Fabric dyes are suitable for natural fibres - cotton, washable silk, wool, linen, viscose & poly-cotton. They are not suitable for pure man made fabrics.
One pack of Dylon Cold Dye will dye 250gms of dry weight fabric (about a of shorts or a blouse etc) the more fabric you add will lighten the shade dyed.
